Description
Brush for brighter teeth and a brighter future with our biodegradable Eco Toothbrush. The handle design allows for easy grip and comfort when brushing, and the thin neck allows for extra reach and a smooth transition from plastic to bamboo. The bristles are comprised of a bamboo charcoal bio-plastic and nylon, and are tapered for softness on gums while brushing behind and in-between teeth. And best of all, the biodegradable bamboo handle can be composted at right at home!
Recommendations:
Change your toothbrush every 3 months as advised by the Australian Dental Association. Remove bristles prior to composting. Do not use if broken or if bristles detach
How long does a bamboo toothbrush last?
A bamboo toothbrush can last just as long as an ordinary toothbrush. The Australian Dental Association recommends changing your toothbrush every three months, or at the first sign of wear and tear. Wear and tear may be indicated if bristles begin to detach, which is unlikely to occur within three months of use. However, if this does occur please follow our composting guideline outlined below.
Are bamboo toothbrushes biodegradable?
Yes, to an extent. While there are many eco-friendly toothbrushes on the market that claim to be 100% biodegradable, sadly this is not the case. While the bamboo handle is 100% biodegradable and can be safely placed in your home compost or organic waste bin, the bristles however are not. No matter the claims, to our knowledge all eco-friendly toothbrush bristles contain a degree of plastic. We pride ourselves in the transparency of our design and we place our trust in our customers to dispose of our toothbrushes responsibly.
How do you compost a bamboo toothbrush?
Composting your bamboo toothbrush is as easy as removing the bristles and placing the bamboo handle into your compost bin or organic waste collection bin. You can do this by cutting or tearing away the bristles. Bristles should be disposed of in your general waste bin. Please do not flush the bristles to go down the sink, as this may contribute to further plastic pollution in waterways.
