Description

Beeswax Foodwraps are a great way to eliminate plastic cling wrap and zip lock bags in your kitchen, lunchbox and picnic basket. Unlike cling wrap, which is full chemicals and impossible to recycle, beeswax foodwraps are reusable, biodegradable and made with all natural ingredients.

You can use your foodwraps for almost everything, with the exception raw meat. Beeswax foodwraps are ideal for covering salads, leftovers, bread, sandwiches, those half-cut veggies, cheese, avocado, fresh herbs, you name it! The warmer they are, they sticker they become, allowing them to adhere to the surface of a bowl, plate, or create a pouch to store food in. And the colder they are, the firmer they become. So when in the fridge, they create an airtight seal that keeps your food fresher for much longer than plastic cling wrap. Like Eco-friendly Tupperware that’s flexible!

Choose from our colourful range of patterns and sizes to suit your needs. You will receive a variety from the selected pattern combo.

Sizes

How do you use Beeswax Foodwraps?

When you’re ready to use your foodwraps, activate them by softly scrunching them in your hands. You will notice they become stickier. Then simply shape your foodwrap around an item of food or a bowl and hold it down to secure in place. Your foodwrap will keep this shape.

How you clean Beeswax Foodwraps?

We always advise our customers to rinse their foodwraps in cold water only after use and give them a gentle wipe with a cool, soapy sponge as needed. You can leave it to dry over your dish rack or pat dry with a tea towel.

How do you store Beeswax Foodwraps?

You can just pop your foodwraps in the drawer alongside your tea towels. Don’t worry they won’t stick to anything in there, but you can always line the drawer with baking paper for safe keeping.

How long do Beeswax Foodwraps last?

Beeswax foodwraps can last you for years. It all depends on how often you use them and how well you look after them. After you have been using your foodwrap for a while, may notice slight creases on the surface. This is a natural occurrence from the heating, cooling and flexing of the wax, but rest assured your foodwrap will continue to work perfectly well.

Do Beeswax Foodwraps melt?

Beeswax foodwraps will only melt if you place them under a direct heat source as such ovens, stove or microwaves. Just remove the foodwrap before reheating your meal. If you’re headed out for a picnic, barbeque or if their being packed into a school bag on a hot Summer day, just tuck a cooler pack in with them or pop them in a cooler bag. And allow any hot dishes to cool down first. It’s ok to use your foodwrap on warm dishes though, this will actually help it to stick to the surface.

Can I freeze it?

Yes! You can use your food wrap to freeze food. After removing from the freezer, avoid damaging the surface by allowing your foodwrap to stand for a few minutes until it softens before unwrapping your food.

Will it change the taste of my food?

If you first use your foodwrap directly on softer foods such as cheese and cut fruit, there may be a faint taste. This is not harmful in the slightest and most customers don’t find it unpleasant. This will fade over time. We find comfort in knowing that our food is coming in to contact with all-natural ingredients, rather than the plasticisers and phthalates in plastic cling wrap.

Will it leave wax on my dishes?

At first you may notice a small amount of residue on the surface of a plate or bowl after using your foodwrap. These are the natural ingredients working away to adhere to the surface and any residue will be removed upon cleaning. This will fade over time.

What do I do with my old foodwraps?

All the ingredients of beeswax foodwraps are biodegradable, which means they can be composted. If your composting you foodwraps at home, just cut them into strips first. But it’s also really easy to resurface your wraps from time to time, which you can do with our DIY Waxing Medium.

Handcrafted with certified organic 100% cotton, infused with Australian beeswax, Australian jojoba oil, coconut oil and tree resins.
